Investing in Helsingborg

In Helsingborg today, watching Petra Fagertröms hard working students. Listening to their pitching of their new invention; the 19th century steam engine, as a member of the “investor board”.

Isac visits

Isac pays a visit at the office here in Bunkeflo Strand. Not very much of an exciting Momail office these days, so BlizztrNets demo hall with its cool gamer booths is a lot more impressive to a 10-year old.

Kinnekulle, Kick-Off

Meeting up at Anders Karlssons beautiful mansion in Kinnekulle together with Adrian Bara, Anders Orup, Pär Björkänge and friends. Great minds that think alike, discussing the future of digital learning and the why’s and how’s – to take part in what’s to come.

A truly fantastic environment that really gets your creativity started. Anders has bought an old limestone quarry where he intend to start up a photo gallery.

Let’s see what these two days will bring and what it’ll mean for InteraktionsBolaget in the future.

Hong Kong, Kowloon

One of the worst in-flights I’ve experienced. Not because of the landing itself but because of how close we were to the surroundings.

After a nice lunch with Gerald and Adam at the Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club (where I couldn’t talk with Mikael in my cellular without being directed to a small booth!) down in the Harbour, Roger and I took of for a minor city tour where he showed me Hong Kong. I swear I could feel a certain vibe walking the same streets as Bruce Lee, and it’s quite an stunning view to have a look at HK up at The Peak. Quite a busy town, yet very relaxed and friendly. Bought a PS3 skate game to Isac at half of the price compared to back home. Should I buy some more??

Did some more meetings where I didn’t feel I was contributing very much so I did a walk-about of my own to get some air and feel the city vibe. Little did I know there was a storm coming and I found myself standing looking at the waves washing high over the harbour pier, thinking I should probably try to find some shelter. Some street signs and posters came rushing by in the strong wind and the rain got even more intense. Then, surprisingly the storm was over again within 20 minutes, and only the flooded streets could tell that something had just happened.

“Dude, that’s Mount Everest!” On the way home I overheard a conversation a few rows behind me, and suddenly from the speakers I could hear the captain confirm what I first thought was an imagination: Mount Everest on your right. Now, that’s a view!

Saltimporten, Malmö

So, from now on this is gonna be the new headquarters for InteraktionsBolaget. On the 6th floor at Saltimporten, Malmö Harbour.

Nice view including Öresund bridge and Turning Torso. And of course we have the Finnline ferry passing by just outside the window, making the whole building shake (so we won’t fall asleep while at work).

New York, USA

New York. The big apple!

Would love to have an office abroad over here. First time for me but most probably not the last.

So awesome: Ipad is launched here and it’s for sale this week!! Do I need one? Most definitely! Apple has a cool underground shop with a big, majestic glass entry. Quite crowded and almost one sales person per customer running around demonstrating the different devices.

Feels like we’re walking around in a movie!

The Taiwan Mobile special

So here’s the result. The Momail deal bundled into a white label as a Taiwan Mobile special. Read it out loud!

Bangkok, Thailand

Just had to visit Khao Sarn Road when I stopped for the night in Bangkok on my way home. Not the same as it used to be when I backpacked here with Camilla back in ’95, but sure feels great to be back. Got talked into taking a ride with a motorcycle instead of tuk-tuk back to the hotel and had a crazy near-death experience. Listen to my advice: Never ever hop on the back of a motorcycle and head out into the Bangkok traffic. Never!

Taiwan, Taipei 101

Finally arriving in Taiwan! What an awesome place. Almost surreal and lots of contrasts, when walking down the busy streets around Taipei 101, and then after a short cab drive stepping into the historical scene downtown at the “Snake Market”. Eating out (literally) on a table at the side of the road in the back street of the market, before taking of for a beer at Hooters which was .. refreshing.

When it comes to business we started of quite far away from having a good agreement with Taiwan Mobile. Still, with some luck and actually hard work – synchronised live with the team in Sweden – we could shake hand with Taiwan Mobile after they’ve lined up on a row starting with the developers and continued with the middle management and finally to the big boss himself. Cards were exchanged, off course. Bowing mandatory.

When leaving, Roger, Tom and I decided to go out for a last dinner while waiting for the airport taxi to arrive. We walked away to some local diner a quarter away from the hotel without telling anyone. After half an hour a guy from the hotel! nudged me polite on the back to tell me that my taxi had arrived and I should get going. A truly amazing find I’d say 🙂
